Reviews
This is a little hidden gem that reminds me of an ice cream shop I frequented as a kid, which I love!! Lots of old-timey charm which makes it really cute. It has plenty of food options (hot meals/snacks & sweet treats), including a variety of dairy free options. There are even treats for doggos! Truly my favorite thing about this place is that there is a small grass area around the back with a little playground for kids. It is enclosed with bushes & oak trees, and has a handful of picnic tables - great for families that are looking for a little privacy or just some shade!! Though the playground could use a little up keeping and maintenance, it was just so nice to sit down and have a moment relaxing with my family on a hot summer day. Though the ice cream was pretty average, the experience as a whole is what makes this place fun. I would go back just for the charm this place provided.
I just had a horrible dinner experience and needed redemption. Skoops was a short distance away so I busted a move into their drive thru... Super cute small shop with so much character. The type of store you grew up with just a few streets down from where you lived. Located on a tiny lot with minimal parking, I'm surprised they were able to fit a drive-thru in here, but it works. Not only do they serve hand dipped, soft serve, sundaes, cones, slushies, glaciers (I had to ask what this was - slushy with a scoop of ice cream..yumm) in a multitude of flavors...malts, shakes, flurries, banana splits (you get the picture) - they can also satisfy your fatty food craving. Hot dogs, sloppy joes..yes! sloppy joes! Does it get any more nostalgic than that?? When was the last time you had a sloppy joe? Back to the ice cream - I really didn't know what I wanted but then I saw Banana cream pie..this was the easiest food decision I've ever made, and if you know me, you know that's near impossible when presented with so many choices. This was the easiest (& best) decision I made all day. My flurry was filled with fresh chunks of banana and pie crust swirled with fresh whipped cream. Every bite tasted like banana cream pie. I devoured a small ($4.99) in no time...Best tasting ice cream I've had in a long long time. If you find yourself in the area craving ice cream, redemption, or both - don't head over to Kilwin's or Oberweiss... Redemption has a name and it's called Skoops.
So glad this place had a drive through and accepted cards-perfect for a late night ice cream fix. Boyfriend said the waffle cone was the best he'd ever had. Props!
Moose! Moose! Moose! You want a 5 star experience go for the Moose. Ying yang balance of hot fudge and cold ice cream. Impeccable. The ice cream engineers had perfect form. Call ahead so they get their scoops ready. Homemade ice cream was disappointing. Pumpkin pie ice cream...more like dumpkin pie. Dilly dilly! Ice cream had too many ice chunks. Great parking for full sized Man van. Employees were great - kind and talented. They even handled awkward eye contact well. They get rollerskates and they'll be on a level of their own. We can't comment on the chili dogs, but they seem a bit overpriced. Our pockets aren't that deep. Treat your derrière to one of their dairy treats! Have em skoop you a moose!
Just wanted to add a couple more pictures of the treats I just purchased from my favorite ice cream shop. Also, I've always got my order really quick.
